I know what I want…but what do you want?

The main reason for the lack of blogging over the last few weeks has been the new gym. One of the things that I have been putting a lot of time into rather than blooging has been equipment. We are going to be very different to your normal commercial globo gym in a lot of ways…just one of these will be the choice of equipment. We not going with a ‘manufacturer’ or a ‘supplier’ for the gym. Each piece of equipment is being chosen because it is what we want…I started with a list of what I’d like…this was a big list. Then I made the list of stuff that I wanted…which in the end wasn’t much smaller. I now have a list of the stuff that I actually need. What I am interested in is what you guys and gals think? What would you like in your gym? What stuff do you want and what do you really need? I will come back to this post and put in the list of equipment we are looking at from a ‘gym’ point of view. I say ‘gym’ because we also have a list of all the MMA, Muay Thai and Boxing gear along with all the other testing equipment and field gear like tackle pads and rucking shields. You know what the gym basically looks like and the size of the place if you read this post. So why don’t you guys make yourselves useful for a change and post your lists of stuff that you’d like, want and need in those categories?

  1. As for staff I have a fat chick in mind which I’m sure alot of the guys even some off the girls would agree is brilliant as she makes everyone else look slim and attractive by comparison. 🙂

    • You must be referring to Denise I assume? Yes, we are considering her for just that reason. In fact the reason we chose the location we did is because it has a delivery door you could drive a semi trailer through…so if we get it widened a little she’s probably get her arse through.

    2. You mentioned you had height. If possible, how about Olympic rings and a climbing rope?

  4. Glute Ham Raise.
    All kinds of medicine balls, sand and air ones.
    Sleds, tires, sledge hammers.
    Boxes and platforms for jumping.
    Hamstring machine for hip extension, like a reverse leg press.
    Woodway Treadmill.

  5. For starters, want and need:
    -A proper lifting platform, Eleiko’s or Leoko’s bars and plates.
    -Powercage (that’s probably a given)
    -Bench where you can adjust the bar height, no fixed hooks.
    -50kg plates
    -Good lat pull down machine which has enough overhead room for pulldown abs
    -_Good_ lifting music: rock and metal.

    Nice to have:
    -Bench where you can adjust the bar height easily f.ex with leverage bars.
    -Reverse hyper
    -Glute ham raise
    -Roman chair
    -Free chalk
    -Chains and bands
    -Kettlebels
    -Sandbags
    -A deadlift loader
